Working Together: Police and Community Event

Working Together: Police and Community Event

Please join us for a Police and Community Event hosted by the Howard County Police Department, Police Foundation, and Citizens Advisory Council.  This event will focus on sharing information about how your police department operates, both within the community and behind the scenes, along with opening up the opportunity for an interactive police-community conversation. You will also have the chance to put yourself in mock police scenarios in our VirTra police training simulator!

Saturday, November 12, 2016
10:00am – 3:00pm EST
James N. Robey Public Safety Training Center
2200 Scott Wheeler Drive
Marriottsville, MD 21104

The event will include comments from Chief of Police Gary Gardner, as well as a keynote from Retired Deputy Commissioner Kevin Bethel from the Philadelphia Police Department.  You will also hear and talk about HCPD’s community policing and youth efforts, and have conversations about use of force and internal investigations.  There will be designated times during the event to meet and greet officers and ask one-on-one questions.

We invite you to sign up early using this link, as there is limited space available!  We hope that you can take this experience back to your communities and share takeaways from this interactive day.

Please contact the Howard County Police Department’s Community Outreach Division with questions at 410-313-2207 or by emailing [email protected].
